The main scenario for rerouting:

  • User has 7 locations to visit on the current day

  • Trip was started and 2 locations were visited

  • It happens that 3 more locations should be visited on the same day

  • User can add these locations to the route, re-optimize the waypoints, and continue the trip from current location (from Rerouting point)

Start Edit mode during the trip by adding waypoints

While in Trip mode there are several ways to add new points to the route.

  • Add from the map:

    • In order to display all points on maps click [Show all non-routes points]

    • Now you can use Lasso tool (hotkey R) to add more points from map

    • Use map pin > Add to route

    • Use mouse right click > Add to route to add any point with coordinates.
NOTE: Pay attention to that regular coordinates points are not mapped to your CRM and use default duration settings from Traveling Preferences

  • Add from Table/Record view

    • Open Table view and use Context menu > Add to route to add a specific point

    • Check several points and use Group actions > Add to route

    • Use Record view > Add to route for a particular point from the table

Edit mode with Rerouting point

Once all new waypoints are added to the route Mapsly will end the Trip mode and show the Route panel in Edit mode. Also, a new Rerouting point will be added after the last visited activity. It will be displayed on map as well and represent your current location. The route will be rebuilt from the Rerouting point to all remaining activities.

By default the Routing point is set to your current location, however you can edit it via keyboard input and specify the desired location to rebuild the route from.

Once the Rerouting point is set it's possible to adjust another points in the route, change the order manually or use the [Re-optimize] button to get the most efficient path on the map.

If there no more changes required to the route, click Save ✅ to close Edit mode and return to Trip mode by clicking GO!

The trip will be continued from Rerouting point to the next activity.

There can be multiple rerouting points along the way, depending on the required manipulations with the route. Each Edit after visited points will add a rerouting point.

If rerouting is not required, the point can be removed. In this case the route will be continued from the last visited point (to be implemented soon).

NOTE:

  • Rerouting point strictly depends of you current location. If the location is disabled or not available on you mobile/desktop the rerouting point will not be added.

  • Rerouting happens only for the routes in the past which means that start time of you trip should be at least 1 minute past the current time. Rerouting will not be added for any routes that is planned for future and started before the current time.
