In this article, we'll explain how to use the Mapsly geo-library with the radius circle tool to create territories that:

  • сontain postal codes within a certain distance from the base location, like a 100-miles radius from the center of Altanta;

  • сontain postal codes within a distance range, like 50-100 miles from Atlanta.

Create a territory out of zip codes within 100 miles from Atlanta

  • First, type Atlanta in the search bar and select Atlanta, GA - this would set the base location of your soon to be radius.

  • Now, select a 100-miles radius in the search bar - this will draw the 100-miles circle around Atlanta.

  • Click add territory -> Geo-library -> Zip, then use the lasso to draw a circle along the radius circle (see screenshot).

  • Finally, all the zip codes will be selected (see screenshot), now just click those on the border that you'd like to select/deselect and save the territory.

  • Click Save to create the territory. (You can choose to show components areas or just a full polygon in the territory properties).

Create a territory out of zip codes within the 50-100 mile range from Atlanta

To create a territory with zip codes between 50 and 100 miles from Atlanta:

  • Set the radius to 100 and the number of circles to 2, so we have an internal concentric radius of 50 miles:

  • Then, to select only zip codes between 50 and 100 miles, just use the "lasso-add" tool to circle around the 100-miles radius (as shown in the previous example).

  • Then, select the "lasso-remove" tool and draw along the 50-mile concentric radius. You will end up with a selection similar to this one:

  • Click Save to create the territory. (You can choose to show components areas or just a full polygon in the territory properties).
