In order to create a copy of some saved route you can use Clone route button to get a new route with the same waypoints and leave the previous route unchanged.
There are several way to clone a route:
Clone a route from Load route menu
Click Load route
View and select the required route from Today's & Future or Past tabs
Click Clone route button
Use Table view to find required route via Route system object. You can add this object in Setup > Profiles & Permissions > Route. Click on Context menu > Clone route
Use Route panel to make a copy of the current route: Context menu > Clone route
Once the route is cloned the Route panel is displayed in Edit mode containing all activities from the original route. Route name is changed to "Copy of {previous route}". It's possible to Re-optimize the route, add/remove activities and Save changes, then procced to Trip mode by clicking GO!
